Bledsoe Creek State Park is a state park in Sumner County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The park consists of 169 acres (0.68 km2) managed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. The park spans much of the west shore of the Bledsoe Creek embayment of Old Hickory Lake, an impoundment of the Cumberland River created with the completion of Old Hickory Dam by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1954.

Cragfont State Historic Site Cragfont State Historic Site

Cragfont (or Cragfont State Historic Site) is a state historic site and historic house located in Castalian Springs, Sumner County, Tennessee. It was the home of Revolutionary War protagonist and Middle Tennessee pioneer General James Winchester. Construction was started in 1798 and completed in 1802 by artisans from James’ home state of Maryland. During the time, Cragfont was the finest mansion on the Tennessee frontier and typified the grandeur and style of the best architecture of the late Georgian period. Named Cragfont because it stood on a rocky bluff with a spring at its base, the house is furnished with Federal antiques, some of which are original to the Winchester family. The basement of the house features an authentic weaving room.

The Sumner County Museum was founded in 1975 by John Garrott, Robert Ramsey, and others who were passionate about preserving the history of Sumner County. Since then, the Museum has welcomed thousands of visitors to engage with and learn about the rich history of Sumner County. The Sumner County Museum’s story began in the 1970s, thanks to John Garrott, a local businessman with an incredible passion for Sumner County’s history. Garrott wasn’t just a history enthusiast—he was a collector with a trove of artifacts and memorabilia, all connected to the area’s past. As his collection grew, he saw a way to bring Sumner County’s history to life for everyone. Around the same time, Robert Ramsey, another local figure, decided to invest in something that would let Sumner County’s stories be seen and shared. Between Garrott’s collection and Ramsey’s financial backing, they had the foundation of a museum.

Bowen, local attorney and member of the United States House of Representatives, and of governor of Tennessee William Trousdale. Trousdale Place is a two-story Federal-style brick structure with staggered Flemish-bond brickwork.
